클리닉 소개
염증성 장질환(inflammatory bowel disease)은 지속적인 치료에도 불구하고 증상의 호전과 악화를 반복하는 만성적인 난치 성 위장관 염증 질환을 뜻하며, 최근의 국내 유병률이 빠르게 증가하고 있습니다. 주로 10~20대의 젊은 연령에서 호발하여 오랜 기간과 동반되는 합병증으로 환자에게 고통을 주는 질환입니다. 베체트 장염(intestinal Behçet's disease)은 구강 및 성기부의 반복되는 궤양과 눈의 포도막염 등을 유발하는 베체트병 환자 가운데, 약 10%에서 위장관에 특징적인 궤양성 병변을 유발하는 질환입니다. 베체트병은 주로 30대에 발병하는 매우 드문 질환으로 우리나라를 포함한 극동아시아와 중동아시아에서 집중적으로 나타나고 있습니다. 크론병, 궤양성 대장염,그리고 베체트 장염의 증상과 예후는 환자마다 다양하게 나타나며, 적절하게 치료하지 않을 경우 천공, 협착, 농양, 치질, 대장암, 소장암 등 심각한 합병증을 유발할 수 있으므로 발병 초기에 정확한 진단과 그에 따른 치료, 관리가 필요합니다.
염증성 장질환 클리닉에서는 환자의 진단 및 약물 치료, 수술 치료뿐만 아니라, 영양,일상생활에서의 관리 등에 관한 전문적인 상담을 제공하고 있습니다.
염증성장질환은 현재 신약 개발을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행 중인 분야이며 기존 약물 치료에 잘 반응하지 않는 환자의 경우에는 임상시험에 참여할 기회를 제공하고 있습니다. 의료진은 질병으로 인한 고통을 최소화하고, 궁극적으로는 환자들분들의 행복을 위하여 최선의 노력을 다하고 있습니다.

서울대학교병원 소화기내과의 염증성 장질환 연구팀은 난치성 질환인 염증성 장질환의 완치를 목표로 다양한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 기초분야의 세포실험, 유전자 변형 마우스를 이용한 연구에서부터 신약 개발을 위한 다국적 임상시험까지 가능한 모든 범위의 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 이러한 연구들은 궁극적으로 염증성 장질환 환자의 삶의 질를 높이고 수명 연장을 위해 도움이 될 것이며 서울대병원 염증성장질환 클리닉은 진료,교육,연구라는 목표로 국내외 최고 수준의 결과를 보여주고 있습니다.
