Pediatric Radiology

The Department of Pediatric Radiology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital diagnoses diseases through various advanced imaging techniques such as X-ray examination, fluoroscopy, ultrasound examination, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and angiography. Moreover, various imaging-based interventional procedures such as tissue biopsy, drainage, central venous catheter, esophageal balloon dilatation, and medical consultations are provided.


Various imaging tests are operated in consideration of the characteristics of children and adolescents. In particular, for X-rays, fluoroscopy, CT scans, and angiography using radiation, we provide the highest level of safe radiology treatment by obtaining accurate images while using only a minimal dose of radiation. In addition, we oversee supporting image information such as processing, storage, and transmission of various images based on the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).


The Department of Pediatric Radiology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital is dedicated to treatment with the warmth of sharing hearts with patients with 5 faculty members for each field of pediatric radiology, fellows, residents, health staff, nursing staff, and office assistants who are experts in pediatric radiology. According to the recent statistics, 170,000 tests were performed per year for children and adolescents, with a current status per examination of 9,000 x-ray examinations, 33,000 ultrasound examinations, 35,000 CT scans, 5,000 MRI scans, and 7,000 intervention procedures.


The Department of Pediatric Radiology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital will do our best to help children and adolescent patients overcome diseases and regain their health by providing cutting-edge radiology treatment. In addition, we will continue to strive to train domestic and international pediatric radiologists and conduct world-class academic research.
