Seoul National University Hospital has faithfully fulfilled its role as the national central hospital for the past 139 years, leading the medical field of South Korea.
Starting as Jejungwon in 1885, we were restructured into the Seoul National University College of Medicine hospital in 1946, and then into the Seoul National University Hospital as a special corporation in 1978. Today, we have built an excellent medical network, including the Children's Hospital, the Cancer Hospital, the Bundang Hospital, the Boramae Hospital, Gangnam Center, National Traffic Injury Rehabilitation Hospital, and the UAE SKSH, providing top-tier medical services.
SNUH offers world-class medical services in critical illness and essential health care areas, contributing to the improvement of public health and welfare. With over 1,800 hospital beds and approximately 9,000 staff members, including around 2,000 doctors, we care for 3 million patients annually.

In education and research, we also lead the future of medicine through global cooperation as a digital and bio hub, and were designated as South Korea’s first National Strategic Technology Specialized Research Institute, driving advancements in advanced bio and digital health data analysis and utilization. Additionally, in the public health sector, we've been recognized as the top institution in the implementation of public health plans, achieving outstanding results in filling essential health care gaps.
The educational, research, and clinical expertise of SNUH are recognized as global standards. We maintained 'the number one position' in the K-BPI's general hospital category for 24 consecutive years and also in NBCI for 8 consecutive years, recognized for our brand value in the medical field. Leveraging our extensive experience in management, we are leading the future of Korean-style digital medicine through establishment of the Baegot Seoul National University Hospital, Gijang Heavy Ion Particle Therapy Center, and the National Fire Hospital.
Recently, we declared a new group mission and vision (One SNUH Network - A National Hospital Pioneering Future Medicine), clarifying the organization’s goals and direction. Moving forward, we will continue to safeguard public life and health and maintain our leading role in both domestic and international medical fields.
