Seoul National University Hospital introduced the Cancer Precision Medicine Platform, which was first introduced and operated in Korea in 2018, at the Global Conference on Healthcare Information Management System Society; HIMSS.

Last year, SNUH introduced Syapse, a cancer precision medicine platform, which integrates clinical and genomic data to strengthen genome analysis and provide effective and diverse treatment options for cancer patients. SNUH also offers customized treatment options for each patient by actively using genome tests.

SNUH integrated the existing clinical data and genome analysis data to apply the genomic test to actual patient treatment process. In this presentation, SNUH presented the setting up the process and suggested some suggestions for it. SNUH also proposed how to exchange and sharing of genomic test information with domestic and overseas medical institutions for patient-customized treatment.

In the existing hospital information system, the clinical and genomic data are separated and can only be in fragmentary interpretation while the Syapse is providing the basis of integrated clinical and genomic data analysis on one screen.

It also created a forum where many relevant professional staff can share clinical / genomic data and discuss it while keeping cancer patient data safe. This is a new standard for evidence-based precision cancer treatment based on scientific evidence.

In particular, the platform enables networks that share precision medical data across the country and across the globe beyond a single institution. The participating medical institutions and laboratories can improve the cancer treatment by comparing and analyzing the data of patient treatment results and deriving effective treatment methods.
