The Pancreatic and Biliary Cancer Center at Seoul National University Cancer Hospital

The Pancreatic and Biliary Cancer Center is in charge of the diagnosis and treatment of cancers in the pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary tract (surgery, endoscopy, and interventional procedures, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy). The center is in charge of the medical care for other diseases such as various precancerous lesions that can develop into cancer and borderline tumors with cancer-like tendency.

Due to the complexity of pancreas and biliary tract and varied characteristics of pancreatic and biliary tumors, medical care for the tumors including diagnosis and treatment is very complex. Therefore, integrated medical care by experts from various fields is crucial. In the Pancreatic and Biliary Cancer Center at Seoul National University Cancer Hospital, the most suitable treatment strategy for each patient is determined and provided by medical professionals from the Departments of Hepatobiliary Pancreas Surgery, Gastroenterology, Hematologic Oncology, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Pathology. Leading the standardization of research and treatments in the pancreatic and biliary field

Members of the Pancreatic and Biliary Cancer Center at Seoul National University are creating world-class research results and leading the standardization of treatment in the world by serving as members of several international pancreatic cancer treatment guidelines committees, which is the first time in Korea, as well as the guidelines committees in the country.

We are also playing a pivotal role in multi-centered research in Korea and striving to standardize and spread the treatment as a national central hospital. Recently, we have started leading and participating in joint research with renowned institutions around the world, and serving as a member of international treatment guidelines committees based on our outstanding research and treatment results to play a global role as a core member in our field.
