The Department of Urology is a medical department dealing with urinary organs such as kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, etc., in the passages where urine is produced and stored and leaves the body, and organs related to male reproduction such as the penis, testicles, vasectomy, and prostate. It is a subdivision in surgical medicine that diagnoses diseases occurring in such organs and treats them mainly through surgery.
The Department of Urology at Seoul National University Hospital consists of 11 staff members, five fellows, and 12 residents and faithfully performs the treatment, research, and education in urology. The major diseases we treat are tumors in the urinary system (bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, penile cancer, and adrenal tumor), pediatric urinary disease (congenital urinary anomalies and other diseases), urolithiasis (renal/ureter stones and bladder stones), urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, and prostatitis), urination disorders (prostate hypertrophy, neurogenic bladder, nocturia, female urinary incontinence, ureter stricture, and urethra stricture), female diseases (Cystocele, prolapse, and urinary incontinence), male diseases (male infertility, male sexual dysfunction), and other diseases that may require kidney transplantation.

Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra, and prostate diseases. Functional disorder, such as sexual dysfunction and urinary obstruction, is also treated.
