Pediatric Urology

The Department of Pediatric Urology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital was established for the first time in Korea in 1985 and has provided Korea's best (state of the art or cutting-edge) medical care for various pediatric urinary diseases (for various urologic conditions in children). We have accumulated the most abundant medical experience in Korea for hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux, cryptorchidism, and hypospadias. Besides, our multidisciplinary cooperative systems for rare intractable diseases such as the neurogenic bladder (spinal dysraphisms) and complex urinary anomalies (urologic abnormalities) have been established well, providing optimal treatment in well-organized fashion until adulthood.

The Department of Pediatric Urology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital consists of 2 faculties, two residents, one urinary nurse practitioner, and one outpatient nurse. Also, we are running several specialized clinics for vesicoureteral reflux, spinal dysraphism, complex urologic anomalies and so on in which in-depth discussion is possible at a time, sparing multiple hospital visits.

Since the pattern of urinary and genital diseases changes according to the child's growth, treatment should also be adjusted
accordingly. The rich experiences of Seoul National University children’s Hospital spanning whole ranges of pediatric urologic conditions ensure optimal cares without unnecessary treatment.

The Department of Pediatric Urology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital will continue to strive to maintain the highest level of medical care, research, and educational capabilities in Korea. Our vision is to become one of the top 10 pediatric urology clinics worldwide.
