Research and development activities in the Medical Electronics Lab(MELab, http://melab.snu.ac.kr) directed by Professor Kim are focused on the clinical application of technologies basically based on electronics engineering. R&D topics in the MELab have been broadened from the conventional subjects such as medical instrumentation, medical signal & image processing, computer-aided diagnostics, human-computer interface to the ubiquitous healthcare system, biosensor and biochip. The representative ongoing research projects are: A ubiquitous health monitoring system that combines wireless communication technologies and biosignal measurement technologies, biosensor & biochip technologies for point-of-care blood assay system including continuous glucose measurement system, electrical stimulation systems for brain & neuro-modulation, and image and signal processing systems for biomedical applications.
