Trauma Center

'Preventable traumatic death' is defined as deaths of individuals who are considered to have survived if they would have been properly transported to the appropriate hospital within the appropriate time and received the appropriate treatment. Korea's preventable trauma mortality rate is gradually improving, but it is still higher than that of the US, Japan, and European countries.

The Trauma Center of Seoul National University Hospital provides professional treatment in close cooperation between specialists in trauma surgery, emergency medicine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, radiology and anesthesiology. The staff are making following efforts to protect Seoul citizens from severe trauma.

- Improvement of trauma system of Seoul through regional trauma treatment system leadership

- Establishment of specialized trauma rehabilitation treatment system in cooperation with the National Transportation Rehabilitation Hospital
