Introduction to the Treatment

1) Procedures before Treatment

A. Registration: Please visit the reception desk at the Department of Ophthalmology for the registration.

B. Vision Examination Room (visual acuity and intraocular pressure measurement): Uncorrected vision and corrected vision for those who wear glasses are measured. Intraocular pressure is measured using a tonometer.

C. Patient interview and basic checkup (main symptoms, medical history, and past/family history check): Simple interview about main symptoms, medical history, family history, and basic checkup are conducted before consultation with your doctor if necessary.

D. Eye examination room (fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, etc.): Required tests based on your main symptoms are conducted. An anesthetic eye drops and/or mydriatics can be given if necessary.

E. Doctor consultation: After the detailed eye check-up and tests, your doctor will discuss the diagnosis, treatment process and plans.


2) Procedures after Treatment

After the doctor’s consultation, additional tests and procedures are decided. An appointment may be required depending on the types of tests.

After completing the procedures described above, the nurse in charge will explain about the eye drops and medications. You will be informed of your next examination and clinic visit schedule. You can book your examination and make the payment at the reception desk. You can get your medications at the pharmacy outside.
