Seoul National University Hospital's (SNUH) Food and Nutrition Service Department is committed to providing the best possible patient care for pediatric and adult patients. The dietitians are experienced in a wide variety of food and nutrition topics and help interpret scientific findings into easy to understand nutritional information. Our goal is to design an effective eating plan to meet the patient's unique and individualized needs and help optimize nutritional health and recovery during and after disease treatment.
Food Service
The intra-hospital computer system allows the service of regular and many kinds of therapeutic diets. Directed by a registered dietitian, the food service section of the Department seeks to provide the best quality food combined with exemplary service and monitoring patient's menu selections to provide food preferences within dietary restrictions. We are also proud of our food management system including the meal delivery system, menu management and analysis for modified diets, recipe development, cost-control and strategies to implement HAACP principles to ensure food safety.
Clinical Nutrition Services
A clinical dietitian provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy(MNT). All inpatients are screened for nutrition risk within 48 hours of admission to prioritize their needs. MNT is ordered by a doctor and enables patients to be provided with systematic nutrition management and continue with their nutritional plan after discharge or between hospitalizations. MNT for outpatients is also provided upon referral. Our goal is to make the patients stay shorter and more pleasant and provide them with the nutritional needs to improve their quality of life.
Individualized Nutrition Assessment and Counseling for:
