The Department of Nuclear Medicine was opened on May 30, 1960, and is divided into an imaging section, laboratory section, pediatric PET section, PET section, and administrative room. In it, 5 professors, 1 fellow, 3 residents, 22 health employees, 1 nurse, 1 pharmacist, 4-6 part-time workers, 7 administrative employees and 17 researchers work. By taking advantage of radioactive isotopes for medical purposes, it applies the results to diagnosis and treatment, and as a pivotal institute of Nuclear Medicine in Korea, performs education and research.
??? Education Duty: educates fellows, residents, staff, students and clinical trainees.
??? Research Duty : develops various radio pharmaceutical and diagnosis methods.
??? Diagnosis & Treatment : Treats thyroid disease and cancers by using of radio-isotopes.
??? Testing: Develops methods to gauge images and various radioactive radio-immuno assays.
