SNUH's Department of Radiology is committed to offering its patients the highest-quality care available through image-based patient care. We start by reviewing and interpreting the radiographic images and report the findings to the patient's primary care physician. Secondly, we provide non-invasive therapeutic interventions using the latest technologies to treat medical disorders without requiring conventional surgery. Thirdly, we provide the effective and efficient digital transfer of radiological examinations through the Hospital's internal computer network.
SNUH's Department of Radiology utilizes the latest advances in imaging techniques including MRI spectroscopy, multislice CT, biplane angiography, and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography, in the environment of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
Today, the role of interventional radiology is growing. Interventional radiology is a specialized area of radiology that uses various imaging techniques to guide the insertion of small instruments and tools into the body to identify and treat medical disorders. Examples are transarterial embolization of hepatocellular carcinoma, non-invasive treatment of vascular abnormalities of the abdomen and extremities, non-surgical treatment of urinary tract and hepatobiliary system abnormalities, and the treatment of cerebral vascular diseases.
The Department of Radiology is organized into professional speciality divisions to provide exceptional patient care, research, and teaching. Clinical divisions are: chest radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, gastrointestinal radiology, genitourinary radiology, interventional radiology, pediatric radiology, breast imaging and cardiovascular radiology |
