The Department of Neuropsychiatry consists of faculty members, fellows, residents and graduate school students. The primary objective of the Department is to provide clinical services for psychiatric patients. The Department has special clinics for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, dementia, sleep disorders, and stress-related disorders. The Department also has 2 adult psychiatric wards (1 open and 1 closed ward), 1 children's ward, and 1 day hospital. The secondary objective is education and training. Psychiatric residents are trained to become competent clinicians and researchers. Medical students from the Seoul National University College of Medicine learn the principles and basic clinical skills of behavioral sciences and neuropsychiatry in the Department. Further, varied research in a broad array of neuropsychiatric fields is continuously being performed in the Department.
